Elizabeth Loiacono, of Lackawanna, formerly of Medina, passed away on Friday evening, October 25, 2013 at Absolut Care of Orchard Park. Mrs. Loiacono was born in Black Lick, PA, April 25, 1927, a daughter of the late Albert and Nellie (Jones) Dickton. In 1959, she married Anthony Loiacono and they were longtime area residents. She was an avid crocheter and made many beautiful pieces.
Survivors include her daughter, Joann (John) Cash of Lackawanna; the light of her life; her grandson, Matthew Cash; a sister, Eva Mae Schmader; and her brother, Joe (Pauline) Dickton both of Pennsylvania; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Anthony, on August 30, 2006.
There will be no prior calling hours. Friends are invited to attend her funeral service on Tuesday at 2 PM at the Cooper Funeral Home, 215 W. Center St., Medina. The Rev Alfreda E.S. Morse, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church, will officiate and interment will be in Millville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Autism Society Western New York Chapter, 19 Limestone Drive, Suite 1, Buffalo, NY 14221-7091.
