Edgar S. Trombley, of Knowlesville, formerly of Tupper Lake, passed away on Sunday at The Villages of Orleans. Mr. Trombley was born in Tupper Lake, the oldest son of eleven children of the late Sidney and Irene (Burnell) Trombley.
He was a US Army veteran and served from 1942-1945 as a cook. He was employed by the Diocese of Ogdensburg, as a custodian, for many years. He was a member of Houseman-Tanner Post #1603, American Legion.
Survivors include his wife, Eileen Mary (McDonald); two sons, Bernard (Diane) Trombley of Tupper Lake and Rev. Robert (Cynthia) Trombley of Bloomfield, NY; five grandchildren, Nathan, Bernard, Jr., Shannon, Robert, Jr. and Scott Trombley; five great-grandchildren, Neil and Missey Trombley, Amber and Brittney Trombley and Branden Clement; his niece, Mary Lee (Kenneth) Knights of Knowlesville and their children, Chad (Randi) Knights, Laura (Sean) Riley and Fran Knights and their children, Skylar and Emerson Knights and Joseph and Kate Riley.
Friends are invited to attend his funeral service on Friday at 11 AM at the Cooper Funeral Home, 215 W. Center St., Medina. His son, the Rev. Robert Trombley, will officiate. Military honors will be accorded at the funeral home following the service by members of Houseman Tanner Post #1603, Butts-Clark Post #204, American Legion and Lincoln Post #1483, VFW. Interment will be in Mt. Albion Cemetery. Memorials may be made to The Villages of Orleans, 14012 Route 31 W, Albion, NY 14411.
