Mary Lou McGaffick, age 76, of Linwood Avenue, died on March 6, 2013 in Lakeside Memorial Hospital following a lengthy illness. She was born on August 18, 1936 in Albion to Adam and Gertrude (Czajkowski) Levandowski and was a lifetime resident of this area.
Mary Lou was a member of Holy Family Parish, the Catholic Daughters of the Americas, St. Mary's Athletic Club, and volunteered countless hours for the Veterans Service Agency Transport Service. She liked to garden and work with flowers as well as going out to dinner and enjoying fine seafood. Aside from her love of a fine automobile, Mrs. McGaffick's greatest joy was spending time with her family as she truly made her house a home.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Robert; her sons, Terry (Sue Ann) McGaffick of Albion, Tom (Amy) McGaffick of Webster; brothers, Archie Levandowski of Williamsville and Leonard Levandowski of Arizona; her sister, Gene Jozwiak of Albion; grandchildren, Kelly Sue, Katie, Kerri, Kevin, Kyle, Mark, Heather, Aaron and Nathan; her great-grandson, Troy; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family will receive friends at the Christopher Mitchell Funeral Homes, Inc., 21 West Avenue, Albion, on WEDNESDAY, March 13th from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM. Family and friends are invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial on THURSDAY, March 14th at 10 AM in Holy Family Parish. Interment will be in Mt. Albion Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Orleans.
