MASHPEE, MA —
James A. Wright of Mashpee, MA passed away on July 7, 2013 after a long illness. He was 67 years old. James was an accomplished artist throughout his life. He was born in Medina, NY and spent his youth in Lyndonville.
He received a Bachelor's Degree at Brown University in 1967 and a Master's of Fine Arts in 1970 from the Pratt Institute of Art in New York City. After many years in NYC with his ex-wife, Patricia Chapple Wright, he moved to Mashpee some time after their divorce where he spent the remainder of his life creating art, watching the universe through his telescope and playing electric guitar.
Mr. Wright is survived by his father, James B. Wright of Mashpee; his sister, Carol B. Wright of Somerville, MA; his daughter, Amanda E. W. Poston; her husband, Captain Miguel P. Poston; his grandchildren, Arianna S. T. Poston and Issan K. W. Poston, who are all currently residing in Mashpee, MA; and his longtime companion, Elizabeth Kane of Falmouth, MA. Mr. Wright was a gifted person who is deeply missed by his family and a wide circle of life-long friends.
There will be a private memorial gathering at his father's residence on Punkhorn Point, Mashpee, MA on Saturday, July 13th starting at 1:00 PM.
