Teresa Martillotta, age 87, of Albion, died on May 23, 2013 in the Martin-Linsin Hospice Residence following a brief illness. She was born on December 2, 1925 in Albion to Charles and Josephine (Trupiano) Martillotta and had lived in this area all of her life.
Teresa retired as an Executive Housekeeper of the Orleans County Nursing Home and also worked as a waitress at her brother's restaurant, the former Marti's Supper Club. Ms. Martillotta was a member of Holy Family Parish, was a former Orleans County Democratic Chairwomen and served over 50 years as a NY State Democratic Committee Person. She was someone who loved to be around people, loved watching sports, loved politics, and had strong beliefs and convictions. She also enjoyed traveling and socializing with people while savoring an Absolute Martini. Above all, Teresa had a deep love for her nieces and nephews and their families.
She was predeceased by her six brothers, two sisters and their spouses, Louis (Jane), Esther (Joe)Zummo, Mimi (Carol), Jim (Mildred), Sam (Mary), Joe (Edith), Josephine (Jim) Vick, and John (Sally). She is survived by several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews; as well as her dear friend, Ernie.
The family will receive friends at the Christopher Mitchell Funeral Homes, Inc., 21 West Avenue-Albion, WEDNESDAY 4-7 PM. Family and friends are invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial on THURSDAY at 11 AM in Holy Family Parish. Interment will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Orleans.
