Bernice D. Gulinski, 89, of Medina entered into rest Wednesday morning, May 29, 2013 at the Medina Memorial Hospital. Born in Medina, Mrs. Gulinski was the daughter of the late Jacob and Mary (O'Kussick) Hoffman.
She graduated from Medina High School, Class of 1942. On October 21, 1950 she married Anthony Gulinski and together they operated Gulinski Funeral Home on Eagle St. in Medina which they started in 1954 and ran for many years. Mrs. Gulinski was a longtime active member of the former Sacred Heart of Jesus R.C. Church in Medina and was currently a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Parish, St. Mary's Church. She was also a member of the Altar and Rosary Society and a former member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas. One of Mrs. Gulinski's favorite hobbies was sewing, having sewn many of her own clothes and she also enjoyed baking. She will be fondly remembered for her grace, her kindness and her dedication to the families she and her husband served throughout the years.
Survivors include her son, Joseph of Medina; her sister in-law, Frances of Sun City, AZ; also several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband, Anthony on July 29, 1998 and her brother, Lawrence.
Calling hours will be held on Monday from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM at Cooper Funeral Home, 215 W. Center St., Medina. Her Mass of Christian Burial will be concelebrated on Tuesday at 10 AM at Holy Trinity Catholic Parish, St. Mary's Church in Medina by Rev. Daniel Fawls and Rev. Joseph Fifagrowicz. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Town of Ridgeway. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in her memory to the American Diabetes Association, 315 Alberta Dr. #102, Buffalo, NY 14226.
