Ralph S. Taliento, of Mesa, AZ, formerly of Medina, passed away on Monday, November 12, 2012 at the Banner Baywood Medical Center in Mesa. Mr. Taliento was born in Medina, January 7, 1931, a son of the late Anthony and Ida (Santillo) Taliento.
A graduate of St. Mary's School, he attended Medina High School and served with the US Army with the 2nd Armor Division Hell on Wheels. He was stationed in Worms, Germany, for eighteen months and following his discharge, he served in the reserves for eight years. Mr. Taliento was employed by Harrison Radiator Division of GMC, as a set-up man, for thirty-one years, retiring in 1981. He was a lifelong member of Holy Trinity Catholic Parish/St. Mary's Church, UAW, Local 686 and Butts-Clark Post #204, American Legion. He enjoyed gardening, keeping his car shining and was a Buffalo Bills fan.
Survivors include his brother, Donald (Lory) Taliento of Mesa, AZ; nieces and nephews, Linda Bacon Root (Rick), Daniel, Mathew and Kevin, Lisa Taliento Horanburg (Chris), Josh, Jenna and Britni. Also, dear friends, Claudia Enderby and family, Daniel and Ellie Larkin and family and William "Buddy" Arnett and family. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Caroline (late George) Bacon; dear friends, Dorothy Chambers and Settimo Babe Stornelli.
Friends may call on Sunday (4-7 PM) at Cooper Funeral Home, 215 West Center Street, Medina. The Rosary will be prayed at the funeral home on Sunday at 4:30 PM. The Rev. Daniel J. Fawls will celebrate his Mass of Christian Burial on Monday at 11 AM at St. Mary's Church. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. Military honors will be accorded at graveside by members of Butts-Clark Post #204, American Legion and Lincoln Post #1483, VFW. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Mary's Church.
