Eleanor L. Irwin, age 81, died October 12, 2013. She was born October 19, 1931 in Albion, a daughter of the late Fortuanto and Gladys (Spada) Sidari. Eleanor was a member of Holy Family Parish and a member since 1971 of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas. She owned and operated Ellie's Boutique in Albion for several years, and would also go to ladies homes to do their hair. Eleanor was a former employee of Eastman Kodak, lunch monitor at Albion Central Schools and election monitor for the Orleans County Board of Elections. She volunteered for Hospice of Orleans and Orleans County Office for the Aging. Ellie was a proud member of the "Coffee Clutch" at Subway.
She was predeceased by her sister, Jane Ciccoline and brother, Leonard Sidari. She is survived by her children, Tom (Wendy Poehlman) Irwin of Waterport, Tim (Kelly) Irwin of Albion, Jacquie (Edward) Jett of Holley; seven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; brothers, Rocco Sidari of Albion, Frank (Jane) Sidari of Albion; sisters, Santa Calles of Albion, Louise (Alex) Felso of Lyndonville; several nieces, nephews, cousins.
The family will receive friends at the Christopher Mitchell Funeral Homes, Inc., 21 W. Ave., Albion, Tuesday from 2:00-4:00 & 7:00-9:00 PM. Her Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Holy Family Parish-St. Joseph's Church, Wednesday at 10:00 AM. Interment will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Orleans.
