Dennis W. Heil, of Medina, passed away on Monday, December 2, 2013 at Strong Memorial Hospital, Rochester. Mr. Heil was born in Jamestown on January 13, 1964, a son of Kay (Scofield) Mighells and Eugene F. Heil.
A graduate of Falconer Central High School, Class of 1982, he was a member of the Honor Society. He attended Triangle Tech in Erie, PA and on September 2, 1989, he married the former Frances M. Maille. He was employed by Barden Homes for over twenty years, and was currently employed by Claims Recovery Financial Services, as an office manager. Denny was formally active in the Iroquois Trail Council, Boy Scouts of America, Medina Troop #28 and was a former AYSO coach; was a talented wood craftsman and attended many craft shows in Western New York and enjoyed gardening. He was especially fond of rollerblading with his kids.
Survivors include his wife, Frances; seven children, Alexander, Zachary, Austin, Holly, Daniel, Hannah and Hunter; his mother, Kay (Robert) Mighells of Raleigh, NC; his father, Eugene (Traudi) Heil of Bemus Point; sister, Deborah (John) Avery of Raleigh, NC; brother, Steven Heil of Jamestown; mother and father-in-law, Bettyann and Howard Maille of New Bern, NC; brother-in-law, Howard Maille of Erie, PA; three nephews, James Maille and James and Joshua Lacki; three nieces, Melissa and Janelle Avery and Cassandra Heil. He was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Merle and Mildred Scofield; and paternal grandparents, Glenn and Julia Heil.
Friends may call on Wednesday (4-7 PM) at the Cooper Funeral Home, 215 West Center St., Medina, where his funeral service will be held on Thursday at 2 PM. The Rev. James Knapp will officiate and interment will be in West Ridgeway Cemetery.
