Larry L. Passarell, of Medina, passed away on Tuesday morning, August 20, 2013 at his home. Mr. Passarell was born in Lockport, June 30, 1942, a son of Adela Passarell and the late Lewis Passarell.
He was a graduate of the State University of New York at Brockport where he earned a Bachelor's and Master's Degree. On July 24, 1965, he married the former Elizabeth Monacelli. Mr. Passarell was employed by the Medina Central School District, as a high school math teacher, from 1965 to 2000. He coached Basketball at Medina for nineteen years. He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Parish/St. Mary's Church, Medina Council #651, Knights of Columbus, the Medina Teacher’s Association and the National Rifle Association. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed gardening, hunting and was a good cook.
Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Elizabeth M.; two children, Christopher (Alexandra) Passarell of Orchard Park and Stephanie (Jennifer) of Huntington, NY; three grandchildren, Zach, Kate and Charlotte; his mother, Adela Passarell of Holley; two brothers, Gary (Sharin) Passarell and Lewis (Janice) Passarell; his half-sister, LuAnn (William) Olles; half-brother, Grant (Cathy) Passarell; several nieces and nephews. Besides his father, he was predeceased by his sister, Sharon Cooper.
Friends may call on Friday (5-8 PM) at the Cooper Funeral Home, 215 W. Center St., Medina. The Rev. Daniel J. Fawls will celebrate his Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday at 11 AM at Holy Trinity Parish/St. Mary's Church. Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Holley. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to American Cancer Society, Dollars for Scholars, or Hospice of Orleans County.
