Arza Burrel Murphy, of Lyndonville, passed away on Wednesday evening, November 21, 2012 at his home. Mr. Murphy was born in Clay, WV, July 7, 1931, a son of the late Ellis and Martha Jane (Parker) Murphy.
A US Air Force veteran, he served from 1952-1960. Farming was his passion. He owned and operated a farm, Murphy Berry Farm for 27 years. He also worked at Owens Illinois for many years. He enjoyed hunting and spoiling his grandkids.
Survivors include his wife, the former Avis Arlene Holcomb; two remaining sons, Randy (Judy) Murphy and Anthony (Lisa) Murphy; a daughter-in-law, Kathy Murphy. He was loved by his grandchildren, Kathryn Richards, Christopher Murphy, Tricia Goodrich, Tyler Murphy, Steven Murphy, Timothy Murphy, Samantha Murphy and Melodi Murphy; and great-grandkids; two sisters, Edith Young and Juanita Allman; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three sons, Quinton, Duane Laird Kevin Murphy.
Friends are invited to attend his funeral service on Tuesday at 10 AM at Yates Baptist Church, East Yates Center Road, Lyndonville. Pastor Lyell K. Drake will officiate. Interment will be in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, West Shelby, where military honors will be accorded at graveside by members of Lincoln Post #1483, VFW and Butts-Clark Post #204, American Legion. Arrangements were completed by the Cooper Funeral Home, Medina.
