The second annual B.A. Open golf tournament and dinner auction will be held Thursday at Grand Island’s Beaver Island Golf Course. The tournament is a four-person scramble with a 10:30 a.m. registration. Golfers report to their carts at 11:45 a.m. for a noon shotgun start. Dinner will be at 6 p.m.
The tournament is held in memory of Bill Aydelotte, who passed away last year from cancer. Aydelotte operated B.A.’s Saloon on East River Road. Bill’s widow, Nancy, a registered nurse, requested last year that all funds raised be donated to the Association for the Research of Childhood Cancer Tournament.
Tournament organizers have a goal of $10,000 for this year’s tournament. The Association for the Research of Childhood Cancer Tournament raises funds to support basic science research for potential cures of childhood cancer.
The cost is $125 per golfer and includes, a cart, range balls, awards and dinner. There are also spots for dinner only, which costs $30. Two drink tickets are included with dinner. Business packages are also available, and monetary donations will be accepted.
